Makenzie has a puppy named Gringo, and he is a Chihuahua. She's had him for about 6 months and he always lives at her mom's house. Well sometimes when Makenzie's mom is away she puts Gringo in a kennel and he stays there for days on end. We volunteered to take him a few weekends ago because it's so sad that he spends so much time in a kennel and so little time being actually loved. We have no problem loving an additional puppy, and when we had him we realized that he craves so much attention and needs training and love and affection that he isn't getting. So we decided to keep him. Now we have three dogs, all small and all black. Well, Gringo is black with white legs and a white chest. And Murphy has a little grey in her, while Rex is black with a white patch on his chest and the tips of his paws. I have to say that he really is super sweet and he's learned so much already about how to be a good boy. And he's small and doesn't really take up any room and weighs less than 2 pounds so it's almost like he's not even there!...until he starts stretching at night and ends up scratching my back while doing so! He and Murphy are both burrowers (is that even a real word?) and love to sleep under the covers. How do they get air under there? I have no clue. So at night Murphy and Gringo will be under the covers at the foot of the bed and Rex will be next to me or Jimmy with his head on our pillow. Sweetness.
All in all things are going blissfully well. We're all headed to Sheridan tonight to watch Kaylee cheer at her away game, so it promises to be a very late night. It's amazing to me how late these football games last when they're on a school night! I'm sure I'm just noticing it because I'm aging (very well, I'm pretty happy with it actually) and value my sleep like never before.
One of my administrators is moving away so I've had to search for someone else and after about 21 interviews I found her! She is amazing and I am so excited that it was a relatively painless process and my guy who's moving agreed to stay on and train her, so the transition will be seamless! She is so impressive and I'm so happy that this has not been a nightmare. If you've ever been without a key member of your team for any length of time I'm sure you can understand my fear of not having someone in place. I'm relieved!!

My key member is going out on maternity in less than a month. I'll manage but it won't be fun!
Yeah! How did Kaylee do? Sleep is SO important!
Sleep? what do you mean by that?
Whatever it is I want some :-(
