Jimmy and I got in from Europe late last night and I'm already starting to feel the jet lag. I never have a problem with it when I go some place, but when I come home I'm close to worthless for 3 days or so.
It was an awesome trip. I loved every second of it. I was ready to come home, but not ready to catch up on work! There is surprisingly little to catch up on...I guess I trained my team well enough to function on their own. I feel really good about that. The last time I left the country I returned to find millions of problems and unfinished projects. I had just gotten my promotion to director of operations the week before we left for that trip last September, and I feel like I've really had some great time to build my team up to what I need it to be. I've gotten rid of some people and hired great replacements. I have to say that I'm very proud of myself. I won't be so nervous next time!
So I got a voicemail this morning from my Dad telling me that my sister Melissa had just gotten out of her surgery and was doing fine. WHAT?! I didn't even know anything was going wrong! Before I left she and I spoke and she told me she'd been quite sick, but I never thought it would be something that would require surgery. I was thinking more along the lines of it possibly requiring an epidural...I thought she might be pregnant! But no, it was an actual serious problem. I felt helpless that I couldn't be there for her. I may go see her tonight at home if she's feeling up for a visit. I love you Melissa! Feel better soon!

You really seem to have skills as a good leader. Great leaders build their teams so that they can function on their own when necessary. For someone who really hasn't ever had formal training for leadership, you have a gift.
Thanks for the visit last night. I love you!
glad you made it back safe! where all did you go? are you going to post pictures?
Yeah, Andrea, are you going to post pictures as Clare asked? For those of you who don't know...Andrea seems to have a hard time with picture taking. LOL. It seems that she has suffered the ills of traveling abroad (or a traveling broad). They don't have the same kind of plug receptors as we do here and cannot charge batteries etc
Glad you're back safely Sweetie! We missed you...lots...looking forward to seeing you this weekend!
I'm glad you had fun but....
Where are the pictures???
Love ya!
